Quote of the Day

As you may remember from previous posts, I have started working with a great little company called Itty Bitty Book Company. They produce the cutest little books, filled with inspirational quotes for any situation. In my work with them, I’ve decided that every other week I will share a quote with you that I feel applies to my life at that particular time. I love quotes and often turn to them when I need some motivation and inspiration, so I hope that by doing this I can help to inspire some of you too.

“Love the life you live. Live the life you love”

It took me a while to choose this week’s quote. I’m not really sure why, I just couldn’t seem to decide which one fitted best with how I was feeling. But this one seemed to stand out to me. It might sound like a strange thing to say, but it’s dawned on me recently that we only get one chance at this life. There are no second chances, so what’s the point in living a life that you don’t love. Now, I’m not saying you’re going to love every single thing that you have to do, because there are things we all have to do that we don’t really want to. But overall, if you’re not happy with the life you’re living, why not change it? If you’re in a job you hate why not look at ways you can retrain or change career? If you’re in a bad relationship, find enough love for yourself to step back and say that it isn’t working. Show that you appreciate the people around you because you never know when they’ll be gone. Sometimes I think we need to be selfish. I’ve learnt from a lot of experience that you can’t possibly please everybody, so you need to start by pleasing yourself. Learn to love the life you’ve been given – it is so precious and fragile. But at the same time, learn how to make changes if you’re not loving something, because life is too short to do things that make you unhappy. This is something I really need to practise myself!

What quotes inspire you when things are difficult?
